[KIT] The reason why you should consider Khmer Krama

Krama is one of the traditional forms of clothes in my country. Krama is a symbol of Cambodia and represents its legacy. Krama is engaged in continuing this legacy for generations all over the world. We can use it in many ways, it’s also interesting and very nice to all men and women.  All of our kramas are handmade by Khmer mostly at Siem Reap.

Where does Karma come from? Why call it Krama?

It belongs to our Khmer ancestors. We call it Krama because it’s weaved from raw yarn.

Souvenirs you should buy from Cambodia

Scarves:  it’s also beautiful and you can wear it on your neck or tile it on your waist as a style. If you have an opportunity to travel to Cambodia this type of souvenir you can purchase  for your families, friends , co worker or wedding day when you come back. Scarf is also a real symbol of Khmer identity.

Cambodian Skirts or Tie-up Pants: It’s great for girls; tie-up pants are a personal favorite; however, it’s a little difficult to put on; you can ask the seller to show you how to put it on and how to do it on your own, but it looks beautiful. The best thing is that these things are true free size, so you can walk around in the Cambodian humidity without having to worry about sweat and dirt sticking to your legs.

It has big and small products made by krama like wallets, tiles and book covers. Krama can design all sorts of products. Even souvenirs like weddings or grade openings.

How can we use Krama

We can use it for many uses including as a scafe, bandanna to cover the face, for decorative purposes and as a hammock for children.Bokator fighters wrap the krama around their waists, heads and fists. Krama also good for carrying things. Mothers use them to carry babies or something.

Krama Support By Cambodian Star Mean Sonita

She wants to keep this Krama alive forever and design it as clothing for everyday life.  She makes the business and work with the community such as she provides the work to women to do Krama and she makes a business in order to reduce poverty in Cambodia. If Krama has no market in the future it’ll die. Of course in Cambodia we call her the queen of Krama , she supports khmer krama and her Krama are better because they’re made by hand. She makes all styles of Krama like traditional print, small stripes.
